VAKOTA completed a fresh and modern overhaul on this Westchester home for a family of four, blending urban and suburban living and showcasing high-end, high-quality materials and design features.
The house began life as a barn in 1905 and has seen a number of remodels in its time. VAKOTA took the piecemeal layout and opened it up with a new floorplan and new bathroom, incorporating natural materials and a bespoke colour palette of soft and warm tones, from delicate linen to polished stone, ensuring a fully integrated design style from room to room.
Remodelled to read as fresh and contemporary, it was important to also showcase some of the original structural elements in this modern take on the turn of the century property.
A brand-new garage was built, replacing the original under-house garage which was too small to keep up with 21st century requirements. The pool, terraces and landscaping were all perfected, and double height spaces within the property removed original floors to allow for an incredible flow of light and air.
Finishing the exterior with bright colour and unique wooden accents made Mamaroneck the crowning jewel of the neighborhood.
